Top rabbi said meeting Evyatar residents to discuss demand added by Gantz
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleSenior religious Zionist Rabbi Haim Druckman is currently meeting with residents of the illegal West Bank outpost of Evyatar, the Kan public broadcaster reports.
They are discussing the matter of whether to agree to a demand reportedly added yesterday by Defense Minister Benny Gantz after a compromise deal emerged that would prevent the demolition of the outpost.
According to the deal, the families will leave, the IDF will immediately transform it into a makeshift army base, a yeshiva will be formed there in 6 weeks, and authorities will examine whether the community can be legalized.
But Kan has reported that Gantz has added a demand that the yeshiva only be formed after Evyatar’s land is legalized.
