A man from the central Sharon region was arrested on suspicion that he tried to kill his own sister so he could have sex with her corpse, the Israel Police said Sunday.
Police said in a statement that the suspect, who is around 20 years old, is a “fan of necrophilia movies.”
An investigation was opened after police received a report that the suspect stabbed his sister in the head, causing her moderate injures. The sister, 18, was taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba for treatment.
Officers soon arrested the suspect and an investigation found that he intended to kill her in order to have sex with her dead body, police said.
The police statement, which was released after details of the case were cleared for publication, did not specify when the arrest was made.
The suspect’s remand has been extended several times, police said, and charges were to be filed against him later in the day at Lod District Court.
