IDF snipers shot and wounded five Palestinians Friday, near the Jilazoun refugee camp north of Ramallah.

A defense official told Israel Radio that snipers opened fire on the men after all other attempts to disperse an illegal demonstration they were holding failed. The source said the troops opened fire in accordance with IDF regulations.

The injured men were transferred to Red Crescent Paramedics for treatment. There were no immediate details on their condition.

Earlier Friday, police arrested two residents of the Amona settlement on suspicion of throwing stones at Palestinians who clashed with IDF soldiers near the settlement’s fences. According to the police, 200 Palestinians rioted and started a fire on the scene. Police and military forces dispersed the rioting demonstrators using non-lethal riot dispersal weapons.

Also Friday, Arab protesters threw rocks at a tourist bus near Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate. No one was reported injured in the incident.
