Brushfire consumes acres near security barrier
Arson suspected in blaze outside Amatsya, close to the Green Line
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleArsonists are suspected of having set hundreds of acres of brush aflame Friday night near the town of Amatsya, bordering the West Bank, in southern Israel.
Torches believed to have been used to ignite the blaze were found near the fence separating the West Bank from Israel, according to Israel Radio.

Another fire broke out near the community of Re’em, and several acres of woodland went up in flames. The fire was extinguished after a few hours.
Friday night’s brushfire was the latest in a series of suspected arson incidents. Several days ago, another fire broke out in the area near Amatsya and authorities suspect that Palestinians residing just over the Green Line were responsible for that blaze.
