The Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court on Saturday night remanded in custody three suspects in the killing of a 16-year-old youth in Petah Tikva the night before.
One of the suspects who was remanded for three days is a 15-year-old boy. Another teen’s detention was extended by a day, and the primary suspect, 16, was remanded for five days.
The prime suspect said he had drunk half a bottle of vodka before the altercation.
The victim of the stabbing died early Saturday morning during a fight between two gangs that one of the alleged perpetrators said had erupted between two youths competing for a girl’s affections.
The youth said that the victim wasn’t one of the youths who were interested in the girl.

He said that the fight broke out after one of the youths saw the girl sitting with the victim and his friends in the park. The youth and his friends then attacked the group that was sitting with the girl.
The teen suffered multiple serious stab wounds and was taken to Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva, where he was pronounced dead.
