A Defense Ministry security guard fired shots into the air Wednesday as security personnel grappled with a man they confronted outside a complex in the central city of Petah Tikva.
Three security guards at the site became suspicious of the man as he walked past the site on Jabotinsky Street. When they confronted the man, who couldn’t speak Hebrew but apparently responded in Russian, he apparently thought they were attacking him and a brawl ensued.
One security guard was lightly injured in the melee and another drew his weapon and fired warning shots in the air.
The man was detained and the injured security guard was taken to the hospital.
There were no other injuries in the incident.
