A fire broke out Wednesday night inside Beersheba’s City Hall, causing some damage but no injuries.

The cause of the fire was unknown as of early morning Thursday, but authorities said it had apparently started in a kitchenette on the second floor of the building. Army Radio reported that the fire broke out in the deputy mayor’s office.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but City Hall employees were asked not to report to work on Thursday, so that the building could be sufficiently aired out and an investigation completed.
