An IDF soldier suffered moderate injuries in an explosion on a base in southern Israel on Tuesday in what appeared to be an accident.
The Nahal Brigade soldier lost part of his hand after a LAW missile used in a training exercise exploded at the base’s armory. Initial investigation of the incident found that the missile was returned to the armory without being disarmed, Ynet reported.
The injured man underwent surgery and was in stable condition at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, Walla news reported.
The IDF opened an investigation into the incident.
