An Israeli woman was killed in a traffic accident in Mexico and three others were injured, the Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
The incident happened around midnight Sunday local Israel time on a road leading from Playa del Carmen to Cancun in the state of Quintana Roo.
Foreign Ministry officials and staff at the Israeli Embassy in Mexico worked to assist in treating the wounded and to bring the body of the victim back to Israel for burial. The families of those hurt in the accident asked that personal details not be released.
On Sunday searchers in Nepal said they found the body of Israeli hiker Or Asraf, 22, who disappeared after an earthquake devastated the country on April 25, killing over 7,000 people.
In April an Israeli man was killed in a car accident as he was en route to the iconic Inca site Machu Picchu, in Peru.

In February an Israeli woman was killed and five others injured after their vehicle plummeted down an incline in New Zealand. The six tourists, three couples in their sixties, were in a rented van near the southern city of Christchurch when they veered off the road and rolled down a steep slope a distance of 40 meters (130 feet) before coming to a stop.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
