One person killed as roof collapses in Tel Aviv

A construction worker was killed and five others were injured after two floors of a building collapsed in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning.

The building on Herzl Street in the south of the city was undergoing major renovations when the roof gave way, crashing down on the workers below.

Large Magen David Adom emergency crews along with other rescue services scrambled to the scene in an effort to save the people inside.

Six people were pulled out of the rubble. One was declared dead and five others were rushed to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Last month a Jerusalem building undergoing renovations collapsed, injuring two people.

In May one person was killed and two others were injured when the roof of another building in Jerusalem collapsed.
