One person was killed and eight others were injured Friday morning in a vehicle pileup on Route 1 between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
The crash involved a truck and a van and occurred near Ben Gurion Airport. Police were investigating the cause.
The injured were said to be in moderate and light conditions. They were evacuated to hospitals in the Tel Aviv area.
Some of those hurt were said to be Palestinian laborers in Israel illegally.
The crash caused heavy congestion on the road, a major traffic artery.
