Looking for a good meal at a relatively bargain price? Wait no more. Sign up for one of the chef-paired meals at Round Tables, the now-annual, three-week foodie event taking place in November at 13 Tel Aviv restaurants.
The event brings star chefs from four Michelin-starred restaurants and five restaurants ranked in the prestigious World’s 50 Best Restaurants list to Tel Aviv, where they’re hosted at some of the city’s best bistros, including Taizu, Jaffa Tel Aviv, Coffee Bar, Pastel, Chloelys, The Blue Rooster, Thai House, Hotel Montefiore, The Norman, Popina, Nithan Thai, Quattro and Liliyot, the only kosher one of the bunch.
Some 13,000 diners will dine on the fusion cuisine created by the host and visiting chefs, who will bring their singular flavors from Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Netherlands to the Middle Eastern table.
Each restaurant sends an advance team of chefs to Israel before the festival, while the Israeli chefs spend time in the visiting chefs’ kitchens, in order to gain a better understanding of their style and cuisine ahead of the November event.
Ivy Mix, an award-winning bartender who specializes in cocktails, will also be part of the culinary event, working closely with the chef teams to create carefully crafted drinks.
Most of the meals cost NIS 279 per person (Nithan Thai and Taizu cost NIS 319 per person), not including drinks, or NIS 239 for American Express holders (NIS 279 for Nithan Thai and Taizu). Meals must be purchased in advance through the Round Tables website.
