A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in an open field in southern Israel on Sunday night, causing no injuries or damage.
The Israel Defense Forces said it was searching the area for the projectile, after rocket sirens were triggered in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council for the first time in two weeks.
Approximately half an hour after the siren was heard in the Sha’ar Hanegev region, security forces found the rocket in a field.
The rocket fell slightly less than one kilometer outside of a residential community, the regional council’s spokeswoman Michal Shaban-Kotzer told The Times of Israel.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

The Gaza border region has suffered sporadic rocket fire, much of it emanating from Salafist groups within the Palestinian enclave challenging Hamas rule.
On October 26, the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council was hit with another rocket, which also resulted in no damage or injuries.
The rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave prompted an air force retaliation on several Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip, the army said.
The Israeli army says it holds terror group Hamas, which is the de facto ruler of the Strip, responsible for all rocket fire.
