A senior member of Hamas operating in the West Bank was arrested in his Tulkarem home by IDF forces overnight Monday, Ynet news reported.

Rafat Nasif’s house was thoroughly searched during the arrest and four Islamist university students were also detained during the raid, according to Ahrar, a NGO dealing with Palestinian prisoners in the West Bank.

Nasif has spent more than 11 years total in Israeli jails, according to the Palestine Information Center, most recently from July 2009 to November 2011, and was a “prominent political activist” during the second intifada.
