The Shin Bet security service on Monday reported that it arrested in recent months six members of a terrorist cell based in the Palestinian village of Beit Fajjar, near Bethlehem in the West Bank, on suspicion that they had carried out a shooting attack in the area in November and were planning further attacks.

During their interrogations, the detainees, aged 21-35, admitted that on November 11, 2012, they fired at an Israeli bus traveling from the settlement of Migdal Oz in Gush Etzion, and subsequently at security forces that arrived at the scene. No one was injured in the attack.

The members of the cell also admitted that their intention to carry out further shooting attacks was foiled by their arrest.

All six were charged earlier this month in the Judea Military Court with attempted manslaughter and membership in an illegal organization.
