Traces of marijuana found in infant’s blood
Parents of 8-month-old treated in Kfar Saba hospital say they don’t know how the baby got hold of the drug

The parents of an 8-month-old baby who was brought to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, after doctors discovered traces of hash in her blood, were tracked down on Saturday afternoon.
The infant’s mother, aged 18, was found at the hospital, and the father was found nearby. The two, both residents of Tira in central Israel, told police they had no idea how the baby girl had come by the drug.
A relative brought the little girl to the hospital and told staff members that she was not feeling well. Doctors who treated her said blood tests revealed large amounts of the drug in her system. She was in moderate and stable condition on Saturday evening.
Police officers from the nearby Arab city of Taibe were dispatched to investigate the incident.
