A fresh-faced candidate for the Yisrael Beytenu party list was panned on Monday evening for several questionable posts on her Facebook profile, hours after the party slate was unveiled.

Shira Mistriel, 24, quickly came under fire after being announced as the 10th candidate on the party list, when journalists and activists turned up a number of juvenile and anti-Arab comments.

Mistriel, the head of the student union at Ariel University, is a new addition to the Yisrael Beytenu lineup.

In one post from 2010, Mistriel published a photo of two Arab teens being hit by a car, with the caption: “Smelly Arab… for those who haven’t seen, there is a video on YouTube ‘An Arab is hit by a car.’ Have a great night.”

The post referred to a 2010 incident in which David Be’eri, the head of right-wing Israeli group Elad, ran over two Arab teens who threw rocks at his car in East Jerusalem.

Mistriel published the post in October 2010, when she was 20, and deleted it on Monday.

In another post from 2010, Mistriel wrote about a power outage in a nearby Arab village.

“Hahahaha, in the Arab village across, the lights went out — they deserve it,” she wrote.

Earlier that year, in a post wishing a happy Jewish new year to her friends, Mistriel described the preparations and cooking for the holiday, adding: “and most importantly, we brought an Arab in and he wrecked the house (cleaned, my foot).”

Mistriel was also ridiculed for posts where she called herself “retardeeeeeed” and another for telling her male friends on the social media site to “grow up.”
