Daily Briefing June 6: Debates continue in Knesset; Biden postpones trip to region

Political reporter Tal Schneider discusses Monday at the Knesset as US correspondent Jacob Magid looks at Biden’s postponed Mideast jaunt and US-Palestinian conversations

Welcome to The Times of Israel’s Daily Briefing, your 15-minute audio update on what’s happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world, from Sunday through Thursday.

Political reporter Tal Schneider and US correspondent Jacob Magid join host Jessica Steinberg for today’s podcast.

Schneider previews Monday’s Knesset session, as the coalition and opposition will continue debating a crucial bill renewing the application of Israeli settlers, and what that could mean for the beleaguered government.

Magid discusses why US President Joe Biden postponed his planned late June trip to Israel, with a focus on the stop in Saudi Arabia.

He also looks at the ongoing conversation between the US and the Palestinian Authority, some of it revolving around the question of reopening the US consulate in East Jerusalem.

Schneider, Magid and Steinberg discuss the latest episodes in Kan 11 drama “Tehran,” and Steinberg’s interview with creator and head writer Moshe Zonder.

Discussed articles include:
