Four people were injured on Monday after a vehicle crashed into a window at a nursing home in Rishon Lezion.

The suspect, a 60-year-old resident of the city, was driving with a plaster cast on his right leg, and was trying to control the gas and brake pedals using his left foot, but he lost control, according to Hebrew-language reports.

The elder care facility was set some way back from the road. The vehicle drove across a pedestrian plaza before hitting the building and coming to a stop.

A 60-year-old woman was moderately injured and three others, including an 8-month-old baby, suffered light injuries.

According to Channel 12 news, the driver was initially trapped in the vehicle and had to be released by emergency services.

He was then taken by police for questioning.
