Family of four hospitalized after opening mail with suspicious powder

A family of four from the West Bank settlement of Beitar Illit were hospitalized on Sunday after coming into contact with a mysterious white power delivered in the mail, police said.
A statement from police said the family began experiencing difficulty breathing and a burning sensation in their eyes after opening a package they ordered from popular Chinese retailer AliExpress that contained an unidentified white powder.
Police said officers were dispatched to the scene and evacuated the entire street while authorities worked to identify the material.
It was not immediately clear what the powder was.
All four were treated for light injuries at Jerusalem’s Shaare Tzedek Medical Center, and later were taken to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem for additional tests.
