IDF forces opened fire Friday at two Palestinian men attempting to cross the border fence into Israel from the northern Gaza Strip, wounding one.

One of the men managed to get over the fence, and was shot in his leg after he ignored soldiers’ demands to stop. He was lightly-moderately injured.

The other infiltrator fled back into the Gaza Strip.

Also Friday, sirens sounded in the Gaza border towns of Yad Mordechai and Netiv Ha’asara shortly after noon.

Shortly afterward, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that it was a false alarm, in response to gunfire within the Gaza Strip.
