Platinum-selling Israeli singer-songwriter Ishai Ribo on Thursday announced plans to perform at London’s O2 Arena, in the first such appearance for an Israeli musician at the 20,000 capacity concert hall.

Ribo, who has gained popularity in Israel in recent years with his religiously-inspired songs laced with lyrics taken from Jewish prayers, will take to the stage on December 5, during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.

The one-night-only concert is being held in conjunction with Bedside Kosher, a United Kingdom-based charity that provides kosher hospital food and is acting as a charitable partner for the event.

Ribo will be accompanied by 12 musicians from Israel and will be performing songs from all four of his albums. Event organizers say the concert “will take the audience on a musical journey through Ribo’s back catalog.”

Ribo recently returned to Israel after performing at the venerated Kings Theatre concert hall in New York.

Tickets for the concert can be found on the O2 Arena website.
