A 45-year-old woman died in hospital Thursday after being attacked by her ex-husband outside her Jerusalem home, police said.
The ex-husband allegedly attacked the woman with a knife in the stairwell of her apartment building in Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov neighborhood, Channel 2 reported.
Police said the woman was found alive in the stairwell, but with “signs of great violence on her body.” She was taken to Hadassah Hospital on Mt. Scopus in critical condition, but succumbed to her wounds a short time later.
The alleged attacker was located by police and arrested with the murder weapon still in his possession, police said.
According to police, the ex-husband was arrested by police last Friday after the woman complained he had attacked her, and was released on condition he would not go near the victim.
