Border Police chief praises forces who took control of Sderot police station, killed 10 terrorists

Border Police Commander Amir Cohen praises the Israeli security forces who took back control of a Sderot police station that was overrun by Hamas terrorists early Saturday, following an hourslong operation to flush them out.

At least 10 terrorists were killed in the operation, according to the announcement.

Cohen says Israeli forces including Border Police anti-terror forces and military troops “acted throughout the last day with great courage and determination.”

“We are in a difficult time,” says Cohen, “but now we raise our heads and continue to act with determination and… strength against any threat to provide security to the citizens.

“Full control was achieved and our forces neutralized about 10 armed terrorists in the station,” the police statement says.

Cohen says instructions are in place for residents to stay indoors, not go outside and call emergency services if they need help.

“There are large forces of police, Border Police and IDF and we will continue to provide ongoing security and respond to incidents quickly,” he says.
