Doctors deliver baby of pregnant woman seriously hurt in Lod clashes overnight

A pregnant woman in the 39th week of her pregnancy was seriously hurt in rioting in the central city of Lod overnight.

Officials at Assaf Harofeh Hospital near Rishon Letzion say she remains in serious condition, but doctors have successfully delivered the baby.

The hospital is the closest major medical center to the Arab-Jewish city of Lod. It says 20 people injured in the clashes in the city arrived at the hospital overnight, including one with gunshot wounds.
