The Nepalese air force managed to rescue four Israeli hikers trapped in the Lantang trek, but was forced to stop due to bad weather, Channel 2 reports.
“The food and water are running out, the situation is not good,” says Omer Zakai, whose sister Shahar is stuck, along with a dozen other Israelis and many other foreign tourists. “The army managed to save some of them, but in the current situation, the weather isn’t allowing for continued rescue efforts. They are in an open area and the weather conditions are really difficult.”
One Israeli hiker left behind has a head wound, the report says, and is in need of medical care.
“He’s okay, but he must be evacuated as quickly as possible,” a relative says.
