A spokesperson for Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, calls for West Bank Palestinians to join the ongoing hostilities between Israel and the terror group.
“Go forth, our people in the West Bank, fight the enemy in every field. The al-Qassam Brigades will be there at your back,” says the Al-Qassam Brigades’ spokesperson Abu Obeida.
The West Bank has seen violent clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians, with a few deaths, but nothing that could be described as a full-scale intifada, or uprising.
“What sets this battle apart is our people’s solidarity everywhere they are, each according to the circumstances in the field,” Abu Obeida says.
He threatens Israel with continued rocket fire in Israel’s heartland in the coming days should Israel continue to cross “red lines.”
“Striking Tel Aviv, Dimona and Jerusalem, near and far, all of this is easier for us than taking a sip of water,” Abu Obeida says.
