IDF conducts overnight raids in West Bank after deadly settler-Palestinian clash

The IDF raided several Palestinian towns and villages across the West Bank overnight, Palestinian media reports, following a deadly gunfight yesterday in which two Israelis and four Palestinians were killed.
According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, troops in military vehicles entered the city of Tubas and the nearby al-Far’a refugee camp, raiding several residential homes.
WAFA says the forces withdrew from Tubas after some three hours without making any arrests.
Troops also searched dozens of homes in the village of Tell, near Nablus, where yesterday’s deadly clash took place, including the homes of the families of the Palestinians who were killed, Haaretz reports. More than 20 suspects were reportedly detained.
Additional military operations were carried out in the Nablus, Jenin, Qalqilya and Tulkarem districts, according to Hebrew media reports.
“There was an operation by our forces to thwart terrorism,” the military says in response to the reports, without providing further details.
Following yesterday’s gunfight in a northern West Bank village, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced a series of new measures targeting the West Bank, including expanded operations in villages identified as terror hotbeds to collect weapons.
