MDA adjusts ambulance siren to prevent panic
In light of its similarity to the code red siren, MDA changed its ambulance sirens to the higher-pitched tone known colloquially as the “ice cream truck” tone.
The decision was reached following numerous complaints by citizens, who said they would hear the ambulance sirens and panic momentarily, mistaking them for the code red sirens.
“During the days of fighting, the siren tone of the MDA ambulances was switched to a significantly different tone from the Home Front Command’s sirens,” it writes on its Facebook page.
