Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making the rounds on American Sunday-morning talk shows today, defending Israel’s operation in Gaza against Hamas and trying to keep Western attention focused on the Iranian nuclear program as well.
Netanyahu dismisses claims by Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who said that Iran’s leaders “don’t see any benefit in Iran developing a nuclear weapon.”
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Netanyahu says Zarif’s comments are a “joke.”

“Of course they’re developing nuclear weapons. What are they developing… these enormous underground nuclear facilities, if not for nuclear weapons,” he says, according to Politico.
Netanyahu also says that Israel uses its rockets to protect its civilians, while Hamas use its civilians to protect its rockets.
In addition to Fox News Sunday, Netanyahu will also be on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and CNN’s “State of the Union.”
