Prime Minister Naftali Bennett says that Israel is flying 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukrainian citizens in the coming days, including water purification systems, medical equipment, tents, blankets, sleeping bags, and more.

Speaking at the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting, Bennett again declines to condemn or even mention Russia by name, instead expressing Israel’s hope “that this conflict will be resolved before the war spreads even more and there will be humanitarian implications far worse than we can imagine.”

“We are praying for the welfare of Ukraine’s citizens and hope that additional bloodshed will be avoided,” he says.

Last Thursday, during an address to new IDF officers, Bennett did not condemn Russia, nor did he do so in a Friday statement after a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Sources told The Times of Israel that Foreign Minister Yair Lapid’s direct condemnation of Russia on Thursday was made in coordination with Bennett’s office.
