Report: Likelihood of US strike on Iran increases after Trump’s Tuesday meet with aides

The likelihood of a US strike on Iran has increased significantly after US President Donald Trump held a lengthy discussion with his advisers on the Iranian issue yesterday, Channel 12 reports.

“The bloodshed in Iran is continuing,” one American source is quoted as saying, adding that, at this rate, Trump “will have to do something within a day or two at the latest.”

The report also confirms that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been in frequent contact with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in recent days, including conversations on Saturday and Monday, with another call expected later today.

However, it remains unclear whether Netanyahu has spoken directly with Trump in recent days, or whether a call between the two leaders is planned.

Addressing the possibility of Iranian retaliation against Israel, the report cites a senior Israeli security source as saying: “If Iran attacks, there won’t be another round – we will act to topple the regime.”

According to Channel 12, Arab diplomats have delivered similar warnings to the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon, threatening unprecedented consequences if it takes any aggressive action against Israel in the event of a US strike on Iran.
