Rumsfeld says releasing Pollard was and is a bad idea

Former US secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld comes out against the release of convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard.

“Releasing Pollard was a bad idea in 1998 & 2001. It is not a better idea today,” writes Rumsfeld on Twitter.

He links the release to the Iran deal, which the Obama administration denies, writing: “Releasing spy Jonathan Pollard doesn’t make the #IranDeal any less of a disaster for Israel & the free world.”
