From Sandstorm brings heavy air pollution
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe sandstorms sweeping the country have led to exceptionally high levels of air pollution, the Environmental Protection Ministry says.
“The levels of air pollution that have been measured in the past day are unusually high compared to previous years, and from a nationwide perspective, we are talking about the biggest sandstorm in the past five years,” a ministry statement says.
Rain has started in the north of the country, while hail falls in the Tel Aviv area.
