Defense Ministry Director of Policy and Political Military Affairs Zohar Palti met with US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl in Washington, the Pentagon says.

The two discussed the US-Israel defense partnership and opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation, according to a US readout.

They also discussed the recent rocket attacks from Gaza. Kahl “unequivocally condemned the terrorist attacks directed at Israeli civilians and underscored US support for Israel’s right to self-defense,” the readout says.

Kahl also underscored the US “enduring support for Israel’s security and Qualitative Military Edge, and conveyed the Administration’s support for a restoration of calm and protection of civilians,” it adds.
