Source says Iran general not target of strike
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Iranian general killed in Syria on Sunday was not the intended target of the strike, an Israeli security source told the Reuters news agency.
Speaking anonymously, because officially Israel has not taken responsibility for the attack, the source says Israel believed it was targeting low-level Iranian officials.
The remarks appear aimed at containing any escalation with Iran or Hezbollah.
