Stabbing thwarted in Jerusalem

A security guard at a Jerusalem light rail station at the Mahaneh Yehuda market foiled a terror attack by a teenager armed with a knife, the Hebrew news website NRG reports.

The culprit attempted to stab the officer, who responded by aiming his gun and directing the youth to lie on the ground.

The security guard, along with Border Police who arrived at the scene, disarmed and detained the youth.

“A report was received about a minor who had a box cutter. A Border policeman, assisted by the light rail security guards, overpowered the suspect” and he was taken in for questioning, police say.
