The Strauss Group food manufacturer announces the recall of containers of hummus after a quality control test revealed possible salmonella contamination.
Strauss says consumers who purchased a 650 gram container of its “Achla” brand with an expiration date of September 9 should not eat the hummus.
“Strauss apologizes to its consuming public and is working vigorously to collect these products from the shelves,” the company says in a statement.
“It it is important to note that all other Achla products have been tested and found to be completely sound for consumption,” it adds.
