Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham plans to travel to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he announces, without specifying the timing of his visit.
The announcement comes less than a month after Graham’s last visit to Israel and amid heightened tensions over Iran’s deadly crackdown on protesters.
“I am traveling to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his team at this crucial time in the history of the Middle East,” he writes on X.
“The goal is to build on the historic opportunities created by President Trump’s unprecedented leadership, to stand up to evil, and to support the people who are sacrificing for freedom,” he continues.
“The Trump-Netanyahu alliance has thus far been one of the strongest partnerships in the history of the US-Israel relationship, and I am hopeful it will pay dividends in the near future,” the senator writes.
“We live in a time of great consequence with the Middle East on the verge of previously unimaginable change. Standing together and following through on our commitments only makes us stronger,” he concludes.
Graham is a close ally of US President Donald Trump and among the more hawkish members of the latter’s political camp.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
