Video of Iron Dome interceptions over Tel Aviv

Iron Dome has intercepted and destroyed at least 108 rockets from Gaza since the start of the latest round of fighting on Tuesday, earning the gratitude of every Israeli.

Thousands of videos of these intercepts are available on the internet. The nighttime videos are especially dramatic: a glowing rocket trail speeds headlong toward an inevitable explosion, and a city sighs in relief as a warhead aimed at its residents is destroyed in mid-air.

Come to think of it, it’s a wonder — and perhaps a sign of the trust Israelis place in the technology — that there aren’t infinitely more videos of these lights in Israel’s night sky.
