Two women were stabbed to death in an apartment in the northern city of Tiberias, police said Wednesday afternoon.
Though police said the motive for the stabbing was unclear, reports said it was being investigated as a suspected murder-suicide.
Medical teams were called in to treat the women, a mother and daughter, aged 52 and 22, after they were found in the apartment’s kitchen, but were forced to declare them dead.
“When we arrived, we were led to an apartment where we saw two unconscious women who weren’t breathing and didn’t have a pulse, and after medical examinations we had to pronounce their death at the scene,” said a Magen David Adom medic.
Reports said that according to an initial investigation, the two women had been renting the apartment for several months. They were said to have been stabbed many times.
Police said they had opened an investigation, with officers collecting evidence from the apartment.
