A one-year-old child was killed and six others were injured in a collision between two vehicles at the Negev Junction on Route 40 in the south of the country on Wednesday, medical officials said.
The Magen David Adom emergency service said medics who arrived at the scene were forced to declare the child dead after finding him with no vital signs.
The victim was later named as Maayan Domanovich.
Three adults who were injured in the crash were trapped inside the vehicles until firefighters cut them free.
The injured were taken to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, including two in serious condition; a man, 40, and a six-year-old boy with head injuries. Two women, both around 35 suffered moderate injuries, while two children were lightly hurt, MDA said.
