An Orthodox mixed martial arts fighter was shot dead by unknown assailants at his home in Boca Raton, Florida on Monday, local media reported.

According to WPBF News, Aaron Rajman, 25, was killed following an altercation with a number of suspects who had broken into his home. No motive is currently known.

Although police did not confirm the identity of the victim, a neighbor told WPBF it was Rajman, who she said had stopped by her house earlier that evening to greet her children.

A friend of Rajman’s who told WPBF he was from Chabad Lubavitch described Rajman as being deeply involved with the local Jewish community and committed to his faith.

Chabad’s website described him as a member of the group and in a 2016 interview he said he attended a Chabad synagogue.
