Times of Israel to partner with Beit Avi Chai in new English-language series
Starting Wednesday, author David Hirsh on ‘Whitewashed,’ followed by ‘Fauda’ co-creator Avi Issacharoff to join TOI readers at Jerusalem-based events

After more than 20 memorable events in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, The Times of Israel Presents has found a permanent home in Jerusalem in partnership with Beit Avi Chai.
The new season kicks off on Wednesday, November 8, with a screening of “Whitewashed,” the JTV documentary on anti-Semitism in the British Labor Party in the wake of Jeremy Corbyn’s inquiry into comments by Ken Livingstone and others.
Presenter David Hirsh will discuss the film with journalist Matthew Kalman. Hirsh, a University of London sociologist, is a leading campaigner against anti-Semitism in the Labor Party and the founder of Engage, an organization formed to oppose anti-Jewish currents on the Left. Hirsh will also speak about and sign copies of his new book, “Contemporary Left Anti-Semitism.”
On Sunday, December 3, Fauda co-creator Avi Issacharoff will give The Times of Israel readers a sneak preview of Season 2 of Israel’s biggest TV sensation, discussing the genesis and worldwide success of the show with The Times of Israel new media guru Sarah Tuttle-Singer.
Jerusalem-based Beit Avi Chai is a focal point of the capital’s cultural scene. The building on King George Street hosts a year-round program of events, mainly in Hebrew, addressing major issues and fields of thought and creativity in Jewish and Israeli society. The center seeks to collect and provide a forum for the various facets of Israeli-Jewish life. Beit Avi Chai hosts symposiums, lectures, workshops, performances and diverse cultural events targeting a wide variety of audiences.
