The Twitter account of fast food giant McDonald’s appeared to have been hacked on Thursday, with the account tweeting a number of insults at US President Donald Trump.

McDonald’s said it was notified by Twitter that its account was “compromised” after it appeared to send a message calling Trump “a disgusting excuse of a President.” McDonald’s representatives did not immediately provide further details.

The tweet to Trump from the official account for McDonald’s Corp., a message that has since been deleted but was captured in a screenshot, said it would love to have President Barack Obama back. “Also you have tiny hands,” the tweet told Trump, a jab that is said to exceptionally annoy the president and has been used to troll him by critics throughout the campaign and since.

The joke goes back some 30 years to when Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter in an interview with Spy magazine described Trump as a “short-fingered vulgarian.” Carter said he did it “just to drive him a little bit crazy,” which seems to have worked.

“To this day, I receive the occasional envelope from Trump. There is always a photo of him—generally a tear sheet from a magazine. On all of them he has circled his hand in gold Sharpie in a valiant effort to highlight the length of his fingers,” Carter wrote in a letter in Vanity Fair in November 2015. “I almost feel sorry for the poor fellow because, to me, the fingers still look abnormally stubby.”

The bizarre insult has even escalated to include the size of other body parts, an exchange featured unforgetably during the race to win the Republican nomination.

In February last year, then presidential hopeful Marco Rubio — dubbed “Little Marco” by Trump — had mocked the real estate mogul during a campaign speech, saying: “He is taller than me, he’s like 6′ 2″, which is why I don’t understand why his hands are the size of someone who is 5′ 2. Have you seen his hands? And you know what they say about men with small hands — ” as the crowd erupted ” — You can’t trust them.”

The dig did not go unanswered. At a Republican debate in March, Trump held up his hands on stage and said: “Look at those hands. Are they small hands? And [Rubio] referred to my hands — if they are small, something else must be small.”

“I guarantee you there is no problem,” Trump said at the time. “I guarantee you.”

Trump once appeared in a commercial for McDonald’s and has posted photos of himself eating its products on his social media accounts.
