Woman stabbed, husband found hanged in suspected murder-suicide
Two children in Rishon Lezion home at time of incident; family reportedly known to social services

A 44-year-old woman was found dead in her central Israel apartment early Monday after apparently being stabbed to death by her husband in what looks like a murder-suicide.
The husband, 49, was found hanging in a park near the Rishon Lezion home.
Despite resuscitation efforts, both the woman and the man were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to officials, an argument broke out between the couple,, who have five children, prior to the incident. A 17-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old child were present in the apartment at the time.
The teenage daughter apparently alerted a neighbor who then called police.
Another son is currently serving in the IDF, and an additional two children were on a school-related field trip, according to Channel 2 news.
The woman suffered from stab wounds to her upper body. She was unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse when paramedics arrived at the scene, according to reports.
The man was found hanging from a fence around a local park, less than a block away, by a passerby who alerted police.
The family has no criminal history but is known to social services in the city, according to an official from the Rishon Lezion police department, Hebrew media reports said.
A police investigation is currently underway, although initial indications point to a murder-suicide.
In September, a 45-year-old woman died in a hospital after being attacked by her ex-husband outside her Jerusalem home, and in June a man was arrested after he stabbed his two children to death in a central Israeli moshav, to spite his ex-wife.
