Sharon describes the scene at The Hague, where the Israeli legal team is today responding to the South African case presented yesterday claiming Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
He describes Israel’s challenge following a stream of intemperate comments made by Israeli politicians about the goals of the war after Hamas’s October 7 onslaught, and the Israeli team’s imperative to demonstrate that Israel is attempting to minimize harm to Gazan citizens while Hamas is seeking to maximize that harm.
