The Military Police has opened an investigation into three soldiers who are suspected of “sabotaging” several Israeli Air Force drones, the military says.
The case was first reported by the Ynet news site, and later confirmed by the IDF.
The IDF says “an investigation by the Military Police Investigatory Unit has been opened against two soldiers and a non-commissioned officer on suspicion of sabotaging several unmanned aerial vehicles.”
According to Ynet, the three IAF soldiers who served at the Palmachim Airbase were detained yesterday, and their remand has been extended until Sunday.
The “sabotage” could have led to the downing of the drones, Ynet cites military officials as saying.
No further details are provided in the report by Ynet or by the IDF.
