Eilat beach evacuated upon infiltration fear
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAn Eilat beach was evacuated when bathers reported a suspicious figure in the water, Ynet reports.
The IDF scanned the shoreline and the waters to see whether there was an infiltration. During the IDF search, two divers got out of the water and after a short interrogation it was found that the two are Israelis.
The military was restoring the beach to routine activity.
Eilat has in the past been targeted by rockets fired from the Sinai Peninsula, which it borders.
During Operation Protective Edge, the IDF intercepted a Hamas cell that tried using frogmen to carry out a terror attack near the Gaza Strip.
