Israel’s ambassador to the UAE tells the Kan public broadcaster that the visit by Foreign Minister Yair Lapid was exciting in a way that no other previous visit by an Israeli official to the Gulf country has been.

“There have been exciting visits [in the past] but in terms of personal feeling there has never been one like this. Seeing the flag flying next to the Emirati flag, the first telephone calls, the trip to the minister’s hotel, preparing the [new] embassy — it’s uplifting,” says Eitan Na’eh.
